Carreg has been known as a city that never sleeps but these past few weeks this saying has been far too literal...Employees have been underperforming due to lack of sleep, we haven't seen a star for weeks now due to light pollution and all this religious babbling is getting on our nerves. What can be done about it?

The Situation

Every night for the past two weeks, hundreds of militant religious extremists from Kalafar have been roaming the city, chanting and holding candles. These "missionaries" as they call themselves, believe the people of Kamien are living in sin: we should be praying instead of finding ways to improve life. "We will not allow these intruders to interrupt our sleep any longer" Ancient Jidri Porus announced at the press conference, "At this very moment, our Eternal is negotiating with Kalafar officials to find ways to stop the influx of missionaries. We believe Kalafar to be a worthy and valuable trading partner but this has gone too far".

"We believe Kalafar to be a worthy and valuable trading partner but this has gone too far."

Fire Hazard?

the Carreg fire department has been closely watching the missionaries every night. Their representative explained why: "We know our own infrastructure is well-made and fireproof but because we have no way of knowing in which conditions these candles were made, and of what quality they are let alone out of which ingredients they are manufactured, we have been on standby to ensure the safety of our citizens."

Negotiations

As stated above, Hubaal Teinad has agreed to sit down with Kalafar officials to negotiate before the situation escalates any further. Our Eternal has always been sceptical when it comes to these religious countries: they often use their belief as a means to oppress minorities and this does not sit well with Teinad. "I believe being thankful for your existence is important but I doubt that this existence is a gift from a higher being. The way Kalafar wields its religion only cripples its people instead of giving them chances to grow. I will not allow this religion to obscure the goals and values of our people".

Teinad and his group of delegates have two demands: firstly all these processions need to end. The processions were not announced to the Carreg city officials nor the Carreg police department and are therefore not allowed. Any procession from now on will be stopped and the missionaries will have to pay a fine and spend three days in jail. Secondly, the missionaries from Kalafar need to respect the religious laws in Kamien if they want to live here. "In Kamien, everyone is allowed to practice their own belief but they are not allowed to force it on others. This means these missionaries are allowed to have their own places of worship, they are allowed to wear religious symbols but as soon as your religion disrupts the day-to-day lives of your fellow-citizens, you will be detained and fined...If citizens ignore this law multiple times, they will be detained and deported".
